Michael Pollitt has written a comprehensive article in today's Guardian 19th March.

It looks like the unanswered questions may well cause quite a stir.  We'll try to keep the forum informed of any progress.

To Stanly Hiwat, CEO of Platte International BVI, regarding your comment in relation to The Guardian's coverage of your company:

You state, "Unfortunately, your records as published have notably and mostly not always been fair, balanced, unbiased, accurate nor correct."

Unfortunately, Stanly, this sounds remarkably similar to your company's business practices and your insidious software.

Quite right, Matt!  And he goes on to say that  Platte will "continue to operate a healthy business model that does not antagonise its customers".

Oh yeah? Roll Eyes

I'm intrigued by this point in the article

Quote
Why did Platte stop marketing to UK?

No one will say. "Our reasons for this decision and our further intentions are simply related to our original marketing and business model," says Stanly Hiwat, chief executive of Platte International (BVI). He would not elaborate.

Some suggestions from me about what might have been their 'original marketing and business model'.

(1)  To operate at full blast until such time as the environment became too uncomfortable for them to continue without threat of legal action;

(2)  To operate until they had achieved a certain amount of income (something in the millions at the least, at a guess).

Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

I dread to think how many people have simply paid up out of fear/embarrassment. Though it's outside the scope of this forum, I'd be interested to know how many people have willingly subscribed - given how many "satisfied customers" Platte kept suggesting it had.

I'm really hoping HMRC does pursue the company for those alleged missing VAT payments.
