Our point was that in correspondence with us, DelBoy stated he joined to see what types of films were on our site. However, we only advertise our adult content and our records show that DelBoy joined our site in this way. He joined from an ad/link for adult films and the first film he watched was an adult one. He was never informed that there was any non-adult content on the site until he had downloaded our software. Platte: How exactly do you explain that, when Delboy saw the image referred to in my last post, he was not expected to assume that the content on that website was not primarily non-adult? I have to say that, seeing that image, and with the name of that website, I would have been surprised to find the ADULT content. Do you not think that you are misleading people, both by the name of this website and by front pages like these? You have now had the chance to read about Delboy and his particular health problems - Do you not think that it is now time for you to show some discretion? Or are you such a disreputable company that you are not prepared to admit that perhaps there is some fault on your side, with images that could very well mislead? The mark of a genuine and reputable company is that it is prepared to admit its own shortcomings and act in the interest of its consumers where appropriate. Surely you can see that?

Right, platte,
this is getting a bit silly, you are seriously going sit there and write that no-where on your site do you say there are no non-adult films, i REALLY cant get my head round this. Let me just inform you of the catagories on YOUR website
Action extreme animation family biography horror celebrity independent documentry martial arts comedy music classics scifi drama sports educational aterdark
Right now lets jsut say, for example, a person goes to your website, which you claim has none of this material, only porn, ad signs up, then surely you are miss-selling, and falsly advertising content you have not got? is that not illegal??
unless iv totally missed the pont here??

Platte: constantly making things up when things get a bit uncomfortable. The "public relations" is a joke. Are we supposed to infer that "afterdark" is your "adult" section? Even if that is the case, there are plenty more categories which no-one would expect to contain "adult" films.
Your OWN SITE claims:
"Getfilmsnow.com is an innovator in digital entertainment technology, delivering high-quality Hollywood movies, TV shows and music videos. Also offering a large library of independent movies, classic TV shows, documentaries. This content can be viewed on any industry standard media player anytime of the day or night on demand.
Getfilmsnow.com is committed to continually expanding its existing title library with the intention of becoming one of the largest independent sources of digital media available online. With new films & music videos being added every month there will always be something new you will want to watch.
Current categories available for members are; Action, Animation, Adventure, Biography, Comedy, Cult, Documentary, Drama, Family, Horror, Independent, Late night (18+ Adult), Martial Arts, Music, Sci-Fi, Sports, Television, Thriller and World Cinema. Many more coming soon so remember to check back often.
To our customers Getfilmsnow.com stands for value for money, outstanding choice, innovation, and a source of movie and home entertainment information. We deliver a quality service by listening to our customers and continually improving their experience through new service ideas."
Though "18+ adult" is mentioned here, it's buried, and would surely only be considered a subsection of the overall site, just as if you walked into a video store you might have a small section of the shop dedicated to "adult" but a much larger section dedicated to all the other genres.
If you're saying that the majority of your films are adult, and are advertised in this way, then there's either mis-selling going on, or your Get Films Now front page is deliberately made to look more mainstream to try to lure people in who don't have an interest in adult films.
So which is it?

Thanks for the good wishes, Swampy - We had to remove your threat, I'm afraid, but we understand how angry you are.
Happy Christmas to you, too.

Hi I had a long meeting with my MP Martin Horwood he is very intersted in this issue - you may want to refer Ruth Kelly to him as he has done some background work on this now. It would be great of we could have the names of a few more MP's who have been contacted by forum members as this will help illustrate the scale of this problem.

:'(
Hi, folks,
It's Delboy here again,
Today, 25 Feb 2009 I have just received an e mail from the Legal Department at Platte, requesting that I make an immediate payment of £54.99.
Note that the outstanding amount has been increased from the originally requested £29.99. However, I have not received any information as to why this increase has been applied.
The e mail goes on to state 'Failure to make the above payment within seven days from the date of this letter will result in us forwarding this debt onto Oriel Collections our appointed agents and will incur an additional £25.00 administration fee'.
Thus my debt could be increased to £84.99 if I do not make a payment this week.
Of course, I will again write to Platte regarding the original Bill and also this 'Unexplained' increase.
Has anyone been taken to court yet, over the non payment of such Bills.
All advice and assistance greatly appreciated, as these e mails are all adding to my health problems.
Cheers

You say you've received an email. So, presumably, you haven't given Platte an address.
I'd be interested to know how they could possibly pursue this.

Hi, Delboy again, I have given Platte my address. It was when I was desperate and telephoned their Customer Services in an attempt to obtain the Uninstall program. That telephone call led to even more problems which should show in my earlier messages. This time, they only e mailed, whereas in the past they did write direct to my home address. Cheers, Delboy

Curious, then, that they're choosing to pursue you by email. Equally curious that they haven't passed this on direct to Oriel. People who have received letters from Oriel have contacted them to inform them that they are 'in dispute' with Platte, and I'm wondering if, as a result of this, Platte are changing tack. It does sound (to me) as if they are, once again, just trying scare tactics. This seems to be a thread which runs through their way of doing things: Threaten Threaten Threaten, until people cave in. Yet we haven't had a single case come to us of legal action being taken against anyone - Why might this be? Well, as I've said all along, I do not think they want their business model to come under the scrutiny of the law. I wonder why?
